Kaisercraft winner and a question.

Uh, it so not 9am… pardon me! But here is the random winner, #11, DebJ:

Deb, send your mailing address to me at tammym at northridgemedia.net.

I read through your comments and I just want to give everyone a binder! But I’m not Oprah and I don’t have any more. I thought at least I could work on some Valentine’s freebies, though. My question is — what would you like to see? Printables or some kind of a pattern? Do you want some printable Valentines, or would something more craft-related be in order? Say, a cupcake topper or ____. You fill in the blank. We’ll come up with something. I can’t wait to hear your ideas.

Thanks for all the entries! You ladies are lovely.

Kids’ wall art & Canvas giveaway

art wall

Now that school’s in full swing, you might find yourself swimming in those dear school papers with messy coloring and brave attempts at penmanship — I know my son brings home at least one picture or project every day he’s in preschool. I love it, and want him to know I’m proud of him by putting his artwork on display… but a fridge can only hold so much.

fridge art

Solution? Art wall. Twine + clothespins + masking tape (or nails, if you’re in the mood to pull out a hammer) are all it takes. In literally 10 minutes, I had a clean refrigerator and some meaningful decoration in my empty hallway.

1. Cut the twine to the length you want (take into account some extra length for scallops).

2. Tape or nail it at 2-3 feet intervals, depending on how big you want the scallops, and add a bunch of clothespins.

3. Clip up the artwork as it comes in.

MAKE IT CHIC: If you’ve got older kids, this still works great with tests and report cards. If you don’t have kids around, this makes a neat alternative to a bulletin board. You could also simply clip up pretty prints or photographs.

flower coverups

I covered up the tape with some easy little accents made with this Sizzix die, some red felt, and some American Crafts Flair.

OK,  now for the giveaway from CANVAS! This prize includes:

Giveaway! Pincushion Pattern by Indygo Junction

Indygo Junction I’ve been stashing my pins and needles in odd spots (shelves and such) for months; I’ve needed a pin cushion in the worst way. Indygo Junction was nice enough to send me a really cute pincushion pattern, and voila! No more searching on shelves or digging through my notions container. Here is my new little yo-yo pincushion, made with this pattern. It calls for one button in the middle, but mine were all too small so I used three instead.

I have an extra pattern! Do you want it? Leave a comment and we’ll choose a random winner on Thursday morning, 9:15 am MST. Be sure to check back to see if you won; we’ll be looking for an email from the winner within 24 hours.

P.S. Wouldn’t this make a cute donut if you used tan for the bottom and a bigger yo-yo on top for the icing?
