Spellbinder’s Smile!

Our friends from Spellbinder’s sent us this very cute layout. Debbie’s gorgeous daughter beams in this easy to make scrapbook page.  What a wonderful way to capture this special time in her life.

To start, Debbie cut the blue grid side of My Mind’s Eye patterned paper to 4×11” and attached it to the blue background paper. The green textured paper measures 7×11” and goes just below the blue grid, allowing a ½” border of blue all the way around.

Giveaway – Kaisercraft storage binder full of V-Day embellies!

So I’ve had my eye on these Kaisercraft A-5 Binders for awhile — they look really cool, they’re sturdy, and they’ve got tons of room to store stickers, ribbon cards, and other semi-flat embellishments. Kaisercraft sent this baby over to us, along with zippered storage sheets stuffed with cute products from their new Made with Love line, and today… right in time for Valentine’s Day crafting… you can win it. It’s all yours if you’re the lucky random commenter! Winner to be announced Monday morning, 9am MST.

You’re going to feel so organized. That little lever lifts up to open the rings, pretty nifty.

Girl Friday saves the day again…

Guys, did you know Cosmo Cricket’s Girl Friday is now officially in fabric form?? I am so excited about it! The pinks, the greens, the blues, those letters…

(Also, I am the last to know about this? I always start wondering that whenever I find something new to me and awesome. Oh well, I’m sure at least one other person didn’t know. Hi, you!)

Sigh. I just splurged on a few gorgeous yards (one of those I-can’t-help-myself things), which will become a quilt for my daughter’s bed and other fun room projects. Possibly something related to this. Now, the patterns are fun and delightful — that’s a given. But two of the prints I’m the most excited about are these:

Not your typical fabric designs, right? I think a good way to describe them is neutral and whimsical at the same time, and I love them both. To death. The dashed lines one is going to make a super sweet quilt back. I haven’t decided the graph paper one’s fate yet, but I’ll post when the times comes.

Or ask your local fabric store to carry it. It’s always good to shop local.

Silhouette + Hero Arts = Good News

Love the new Silhouette designs by Hero Arts! Here is a super cute bag made with a great big label die cut. I had a Silhouette in my hot little hands for a review a few months back, and I definitely recommend it. I loved how you could make things any size, and how you could use fonts you already have on your computer. And Hero Arts makes really great stamps — how cool that you can stamp a design and use that same design as a die cut element on your project. Nice!

Free patterns and a giveaway from STC Crafts

I just got an email from STC Crafts / Melanie Falick Books announcing a giveaway over on their blog, so I wanted to spread the good word. The nice thing is that, even if you don’t win one of their books (although 3 people will), you can still download any of TWENTY free patterns that are straight from the pages of their books. Most of them are knitting and sewing, with a few craft ones in there as well. Pretty sweet! I want to make that little pointy vintage baby hat myself. And that smocked sundress (hey, you could put it over long sleeves and make it work this fall).
