Our first album kit!

This lovely kit is up for sale right now in our store. Alisha designed it with a gorgeous new line from My Mind’s Eye. So pretty, huh? Notice the bonus card says “Mom” — makes me think this would be a perfect way to get ahead on your Mother’s Day present this year. Grandma would adore this!! And really, it would be a beautiful gift (completed, or just the kit) for any special occasion — baby shower, wedding gift, birthday, you name it.

Order by Feb. 21.

The kit comes with a flocked album (6 pp), coordinating paper & embellishments, and printed step-by-step instructions.

P.S. A little behind-the-scenes tidbit: The darling baby in this album is Linda Nelson’s (our Simply Handmade and Scrapbook Trends designer), granddaughter. Her first! Congrats on such a beautiful addition to the family, Linda!

60-Second Valentine

Sometimes I’m a last-minute gifter. Most of the time, actually. So here are some super-quick treats you can whip up if you’re like me and you need a few goodies for friends this weekend.

And if you don’t have these punches, just use whatever you’ve got! Heart stickers would be great, and so would a circle or a square punch for the base.

Candy bar toppers are about 2 ½ x 1”
Patterned cardstock (red): Cosmo Cricket; Patterned paper (pink): Making Memories; Punches: Stampin’ Up! (Designer Label, Heart to Heart)

1 Cut a 2 ½” strip from a piece of 12 x 12” red patterned cardstock (or however wide your candy bar is).
2 Wrap it around your candy bar to see how long it should be, then trim it off so there is about ½” overlap.
3 Secure the ends together on the back with double-sided tape.
4 Punch a label from pink patterned paper and hearts from the same red cardstock.
5 Glue a heart to the label and affix to the candy bar with foam tape.

Valentine’s Day Lollipop Display

This adorable little Valentine’s Day project created by Julie Bonner of “52 Sketches 52 Weeks” really shows off Imaginisce’s Sweet Cheri line. Julie created the lollipop covers as favors for her son’s upcoming Valentine’s Day preschool party, but these are worthy of valentines of all ages! The Sweet Cheri paper line & coordinating rub ons are perfect for this and Julie really took it over-the-top with all the little finishing touches. The base is an altered paper mache box. Love the scalloped edge that coordinates so perfectly with the scalloped hearts and the paper design!

Kaisercraft winner and a question.

Uh, it so not 9am… pardon me! But here is the random winner, #11, DebJ:

Deb, send your mailing address to me at tammym at northridgemedia.net.

I read through your comments and I just want to give everyone a binder! But I’m not Oprah and I don’t have any more. I thought at least I could work on some Valentine’s freebies, though. My question is — what would you like to see? Printables or some kind of a pattern? Do you want some printable Valentines, or would something more craft-related be in order? Say, a cupcake topper or ____. You fill in the blank. We’ll come up with something. I can’t wait to hear your ideas.

Thanks for all the entries! You ladies are lovely.

Giveaway – Kaisercraft storage binder full of V-Day embellies!

So I’ve had my eye on these Kaisercraft A-5 Binders for awhile — they look really cool, they’re sturdy, and they’ve got tons of room to store stickers, ribbon cards, and other semi-flat embellishments. Kaisercraft sent this baby over to us, along with zippered storage sheets stuffed with cute products from their new Made with Love line, and today… right in time for Valentine’s Day crafting… you can win it. It’s all yours if you’re the lucky random commenter! Winner to be announced Monday morning, 9am MST.

Kaisercraft 2

You’re going to feel so organized. That little lever lifts up to open the rings, pretty nifty.

kaisercraft 3

Rub ons (b&w, color), die cuts, letter stickers, felt shapes, ribbon… nice.

Speech Bubble Brooches

Adoring these little felt brooches by Peppy Wanders that I just spotted on Delaney Gates’ blog:

And although they would be perfect for a little Valentine’s Day loving, they’re fun for showing some true love all year round!

Ok, and one more thing — wouldn’t this be great to do with a child’s name and put in their room? Delaney finds such awesome things!

Free download! Printable Valentines

I don’t know about you, but I can never find a grocery store valentine card that I actually like. I usually end up designing a sheet of my own (at the last second of course) and printing them off. But look, I’m totally ahead of the game this year. And really, you’re the winner here because you can download them totally free! Best of all, you can print and use as many or as few as you need with no extras or waste (how’s that for going green?).

So here are two sheets — the first is girly, sweet and my kindergarten-aged daughter was kind enough to dictate the color scheme.

Picture 2

Which of course prompted my son to feel all left out and demand cards of a more macho, blood-thirsty nature.  So here’s his sheet of valentines as well.

Picture 3

To download, simply click here for Sweet Girl Valentines or here for Pirate Valentines. Print them at home or e-mail to your local copy store.  Trim and let your children fill them out. They’re also the perfect size for gift tags. Enjoy and Happy Valentine’s Day!

If we looked into your craft closet, what would we see? An avalanche of photography, sewing, beading, card-making and quilting supplies would spill out and bury you alive. I'd take some emergency supplies if I were you.

If you were a mad scientist, what would you invent? Negative-calorie Molten Chocolate Cake.
