Stamp Storage

Let’s talk storing stamps. As soon as I embraced this new hobby, I soon realized that it was taking over my life and my office. So let’s discuss how you and I can store our stamps for their sheer loveliness and for usability.

Santa was very generous this year and brought me a Making Memories storage shelf. It has become my visible stamp storage display. With lovely embossing powders on two of the shelves, and stamps on the remaining shelves I really love how it looks in my office. The drawers contain more unsightly items but that assist me in my stamping projects. (NOTE: I removed the two dowels from the bottom two shelves in order to accommodate more stamps.)

The second method I have for storing stamps is to place them in a drawer. Not very glamorous, but this drawer happens to be 2′ from my work table, which means it’s easily accessible. My most used stamps, but less displayable stampsĀ go here.

For clear stamps, I stack them in boxes I purchased from IKEA. (Oh and I noticed on my last IKEA visit that they have orange boxes now–YUMMY!!)

My stamp cleaning pad, acrylic blocks, my embossing gun, and my brown and black ink pads remain onĀ  my desk at all times. I know I will most likely use them on every project so they have a place of honor among my supplies.

There are clearly a multitude of options for storing your stamps.

For clear/acrylic stamps, a binder system might work best for you, like this Making Memories Stamp Storage Binder:

  1. thank you for the excellent ideas, I have been researching storage ideas and these are just perfect!

  2. I love to see stamp storage ideas, I love the MM shelf and wish I had the wall space for it. I use a combination of some of the ones above… the ones that are most accessible always get used more.

I like what you did with the shelf from MM. I have been looking at it for some time and have thought of removing the dowel rods if I did get it.
I use Technique Tuesdays binders for my clear stamps. It holds everything that I need when I do stamping at a crop. I have one binder for holidays and one for all other stamps. This seems to work for me right now…of course if I keep finding myself standing in front of stamp displays in the stores, I may need more binders.

    great ideas

  6. Having just renovated my scrap space I was thrilled to add the white board daily system from Pottery Barn to one wall. My clear acrylic stamps stick to the white boards perfectly! I love being able to see them all and just reach over, peel one off and use it!

I use the MM binder for my journaling, flourish, date and other misc stamps that I use ALL the time. The rest are a hodge podge. I have my CTMH in one of their organizer boxes, a drawer next to my desk and the rest in a cabinet. I really only use the ones in my binder and drawer…ummmm.

Thanks for the ideas! Love the shelf..wish I had the room!

I have a Clip-it-up which I love to store all my clear stamps. My favorite storage solution is the Alex drawer system from IKEA. I store my wood stamps in the shallow drawers. In the deep drawers I put all my punches in there. I love that thing! :)

I have all my clear stamps in CD cases. My wodden stamps are in plastic sleves, holidays are seperated then children floral and so on I just need to stop buying and use what I have. Oh but did you see that one and then there is this one, well you know how it is . I think my craft room is cleaned more than any other room!! Now if I could only keep it that way…….Have a great day !

I just love all the ideas. My storage space is limited, so any idea is helpful.
