Can I just say that posting these challenges every Friday sure makes it seem like the week has gone by really fast?! It just means we’re one week closer to Christmas and the start of a new year! I can’t wait. Let’s get-to-gettin’ showcasing the latest challenge gallery. This week’s challenge was to use felt and/or fabric on a holiday card. Ya’ll made some fabulous creations and I can’t WAIT to see if Santa brings me a sewing machine so I can start duplicating some of these.
Check out this pink snowflake card by Lisa Henke. I’m really digging pink as a holiday color so this card blew me away. Love that bit of felt sewn on at the top – it really give it a soft and warm look.

This “greetings of the season” card by Deanna Woodland focuses on two large felt ornaments. I also love that trio of jewels in the corner; adds just the right touch of embellishment.

Here is a BEAUTIFUL card by Carly Robertson. First, check out the background draped in that ornate lace. Then take a gander at the hand woven ribbon wreath. I’m in awe.

Next up, another fabulous creation by Valerie Mangan. This one has little squares of fabric that she machine stitched around, then she stitched through them making a snowflake shape. You gotta love it. I know I do.
Sarah Martina Parker created this gorgeous Joy to the World card. A bit o’ lace topped with a ribbon bow and my favorite holiday embellishment: a jingle bell :)
Using fabric and felt is right up Melissa Saul’s alley so she couldn’t wait to play along with this challenge. Isn’t this card fantastic?!

Want to know how Loni Harris made this card? She used her Silhouette to die cut “Merry Christmas” then used it as a mask to spray paint the words on some muslin. Then she sewed it onto the card and frayed the edges. Easy (and beautiful) as pie!

Talk about one-of-a-kind embellishments! Mariana Grigsby hand cut and stitched together her very own felt Christmas tree then adorned it with jewels. Any way you could mass produce these Mariana, I’m sure tons of scrappers would love to get their hands on one?!

Samantha Sibbet did a bit of ribbon ruching on her lovely Christmas cards! That’s one of my favorite techniques. Dear Santa, I’ve been really good this year, I need a sewing machine please oh please so I can do some ribbon ruching like this! :)
Next up, a card by Tenia Nelson. The entire background of her card is a piece of felt. Pretty pretty pretty.

Amy Duff is the talent behind this Peace card. I’d love to get my hands on some of that thick pink velvet upholstery!

Renee Van Stralen die cut a dove from felt then covered it with microbeads to make her delightful Season’s Greetings card.
And last but certainly not least, a super cute snowman card by Jenyfur Pohl. She says, “I needed some snow for my little guy so I tore a strip of white fabric, covered it with Stickles glitter glue, then pleated it as I adhered it. It’s fun and lumpy in person.”

Wow! Talk about some mighty fine inspiration! Thanks as always for playing along ladies, this is the highlight of my week.
Next Friday is Christmas and I’ll be up in the Bavarian town of Leavenworth, WA kicking it with my family and enjoying the snow. So I’m taking a break from blogging and therefore, you’ll have two weeks for this next challenge. What should it be, what should it be… How ’bout New Year’s cards? I’d love to see a mix of invitations, cards, and tags! Please email your challenge submissions to paiget@scrapbooktrendsmag.com by Thursday December 31st and I’ll post my faves and issue a new challenge here on New Year’s Day. Until then, travel safe, merry Christmas, happy holidays, happy new year!

I just began a subscription to the magazine and today, just found this blog. These cards are amazing! Question: Do you REALLY send these cards through the mail and out to people???? I don’t know that I would part with them! :0)
I agree Barbara — I think they’d be very hard to part with! But what a fun thing to get in the mail, huh? :D
Absolutely gorgeous cards, ladies!
