Another week has come and gone; I can’t believe it’s already Friday! My how time flies during these fun festive holidays! I’ve got some unbelievably cute gift tags to share today, thanks to all you talented designers. Each and every week I’m blown away by your creativity. So keep the submissions comin’!
First up, a super cute gift tag by Rosemarie Diehl. It was created with the Stampin’ Up! Sizzix 2 Tags die and Birds Sizzlit. The branch was made using a cut up snowflake punch (so creative!) and scraps in her craft room. This tag is perfect for slipping over the necks of bottles and giving as a gift.

Amy Heller created this adorable set of tags. Amy says, “They are so quick and easy, and honestly you can really get away with a lot or a little on them – and as you know, I’m not a big sentimentarian {I made that word up}, so I love the simplicity of the message (if any!). But my favorite part is that they are the perfect size to make from scraps!”

This cute set of Christmas tags was made by Jenyfur Pohl. She says, “I like to make mini cards to use as holiday gift tags. They work especially well for large gifts.”

This holiday tag by Avril Tanner was made with a Cricut die cut machine and a Papertrey Ink stamp set to create dimension. A touch of bling with Stickles, plus some ribbon, button and a sentiment tag and you’ve got beautiful results:
Michelle Philippi’s response to this challenge was so cute, “Ohhhh Miss Paige, you have no idea what you were asking for when you said TAGS! I have had the bestest time making tags this year. I made a set for my friend’s birthday this weekend using the Joyride collection from Collage Press.” Isn’t this a stellar collection of gift tags? I know I’d love to receive this as a birthday present! (My birthday is May 28th by the way, hint hint wink wink :)

Gift tags shaped as bird houses?! Why didn’t I think of that? It’s so clever! Thanks Mariana Grigsby for creating this trio of lovely gift tags. I’m definitely a fan of them.

Not only do these tags by Regan D’Agostino look like fun, I bet they sound fun too! Regan used three red jingle bells in place of holly berries and I’m loving the results.
I know transparencies can be intimidating because they’re, well, transparent, but Sarah Martina Parker created an awesome transparency gift tag. See?!
Check out this adorable set of tags by Lynn Reaney. She says, “I made these for a challenge I am posting at Scrapdango.com for a 12 Days of Christmas event. Every day there is a ‘twist’ to the project for that day. This project was gift tags and the twist was to use newspaper. I didn’t measure anything or use a paper cutter or any kind of straight edge. Very freeing and fun to play!”

There’s nothing much cuter than owls these days, and Karen Quinn added one to her fun Christmas tag. She used the QuicKutz Owl die to make the owl from different papers, then added the scarf from another die. She embellished with google eyes, a snowflake brad, ribbon, and white pom pom trim along the bottom. It’s jumbo-sized to make it extra special for gifts!
The cuteness continues with a Santa tag by Jane Beljo. She pretty much made her card from scratch! The Santa is a digital stamp that she illustrated (and can be bought at Squigglefly). And the buttons are her own handmade fimo buttons. Way to go Jane, those buttons and that stamp are awesome!

Loni Harris cut these tags out of Trader Joe’s grocery bags that had a great winter print on them and then stitched over the patterns. I love how the stitching gives the tags texture and looks so subtle and pretty.

This next set of super cheerful and holiday-esque tags come from Deanna Woodland. They’re all ready to write “to” and “from” on then tie onto the present.
Elise Durenberger “got ALL inspired by Cosmo Cricket.” These are so cute, I can’t take my eyes off them!

For KeeKee’s first time making handmade gift tags, I’d say these turned out pretty spectacular. The receivers are just going to rave over them!

Melissa Sauls just discovered the CARDS blog and decided to play along with the tag challenge. She submitted not one, not two, not three, but FOUR awesome holiday tags! I couldn’t pick just one, so here they are in all their pretty glory:

Hey Valerie Mangan – will you please stop making such cute things for these challenges? I’m getting quite envious of your mad scrappin’ skillz! These tags could double as ornaments and some could even be used for Valentine’s tags.

Last but certainly not least, a classy set of tags by Chantelle Huizenga. She needed some tags for teacher gifts and decided to go the handmade route – always an excellent choice! They turned out beautiful and I bet the teachers loved them.
I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling mighty inspired. Enough so to go rip off all the store-bought tags from the presents under the tree and attach some of my own creations! Thanks again and again for submitting, keep up the good work.
This week’s challenge: I have a hunch that Santa is going to bring me a sewing machine this year and I’d like to see the different things I can do with fabric and felt on cards (cuz for the life of me I can’t sew clothes!). So the challenge: use felt/fabric on your holiday/Christmas cards. Easy enough right? Email your submissions to paiget@scrapbooktrendsmag.com by next Friday December 18th and I’ll see you all again then!
Happy holidays,
