Happy Friday (night)! How are ya’ll doin’? I’m a little tired today cuz I stayed up ’til 3am watching New Moon; totally worth the grogginess though :0) So let’s get right to it shall we? The challenge for this week was to use big ribbon! I love ribbon because it comes in so many colors, sizes, types…yum. Thanks again for playing along, you make my week.
First up, a lovely card by Regan D’Agostino. Simple. Sweet. Love the hat pin in the ribbon knot.
Next, a pair of cards by Dawn Woleslagle. I love how this card can be for a baby boy OR girl. Gotta love versatility.
And check out the weaved ribbon on this card! Gorgeous!
What’s better than one big ribbon bow? Two big ribbon bows! Here’s a stellar card by Savannah O’Gynn, also featuring a some ribbon pleating.
Haven’t you heard pink and blue are the new green and red this holiday season?! That’s why I’m loving this hip and chic Christmas Note card by Sarah Martina Parker.
This card by Deanna Woodland would be so easy to create in mass! A big plus during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.
Let’s not forget that it’s still fall and the leaves are still changing colors in some places of the world. Here’s an elegant fall card by Piali Biswas to remind us of this beautiful time of year.
Shaped cards are definitely growing on me. And that big pink bow on this card by Lucy Abrams just seals the deal!
What’s an easy way to attach embellishments to ribbon? Safety pins! Just look through some drawers, I’m sure you’ve got a stash just waiting to be used on your next card project. Thanks for the great idea Brenda Weaver!
Just one week until Thanksgiving! There’s still time to send out some handmade cards. Take a queue from Amy Heller and finish your card off with a big ol’ orange ribbon bow!
Wow. This card is so great I’m speechless! I love the frame, the jeweled hat pin sticking through the ribbon, the punched butterfly, the message, need I say more? Thanks for sharing Carly Robertson! I’m inspired!
I’ve always had a hard time using patterned ribbon, but this card by Amy Duff helps me see that it can be done, and be done very well! So festive, I heart it.
Talk about cute overload – Regan D’Agostino instantly turned three red bells into holly berries when she paired them with big green ribbon. Soooooo creative!

This card by Michelle Philippi is one of the most eye-catching Christmas cards I’ve ever seen; the color choice is so unexpected and it makes for a truly gorgeous card.
The vintage feel on this Santa card by Tina Quinata is warm and inviting. I also love the layered lace on the big ribbon.
Isn’t this card by Courtney Baker fun? That big red/white striped ribbon bow sure makes a bold statement in the best way possible!
And finally, here is a sweet card by Winter Sims. I just want to make a dozen or so of these and send them out to all you readers!
I just can’t get enough big ol’ ribbon bows.
Moving on to this week’s challenge: I have another embellishment obsession…BUTTONS. I want to see cards with at least 5 buttons on them. The more the merrier!
