Describe your jewelry style: Minimalist and Mixed media. I like my jewelry to be classy enough to wear to church, but with a little indie flair.

What is your 'must-see' TV show? Pushing Daisies, Better Off Ted, Chuck, and 30 rock.

What is the strangest skill that you possess? I can fit several quarters in my belly button like a vending machine. Sadly, no candy comes out.

Niche Inspiration

When I found out that today was Harry Potter’s “birthday,” I couldn’t help myself. I find the snitch necklace especially adorable.Picture 1b

Describe your jewelry style? I love earth tones and anything made with raw natural elements! I love brown, black, copper, bronze, and deep rich colors. I am a sucker for anything sentimental and love vintage jewelry and designs made from the unexpected.

What is your must-see TV show? My husband and I have a standing date to watch Chuck, probably because he’s a computer nerd; it makes me laugh and has good clean humor! I sure hope it gets renewed next season!!!!

Bigfoot, the Tooth Fairy and the Loch Ness Monster have all issued you a dinner invitation. Whose invite do you accept and what potluck dish do you bring? I’d have to go with the Loch Ness Monster and I would definitely bring the Deluxe Sushi/Sashimi Combo from The Happy Sumo! (Nessie must love seafood!) Yummmmm sushi is calling me now!!!!!

July Editor’s Pick by Carrie Benvenuti

Carrie Benvenuti is a certified PMC (Precious Metal Clay) artist and creates some of the most beautiful fine silver creations that “reflect the textures and the colors of the living world around us.”   I absolutely love the organic nature of her Oak Goddess necklace and the detail of her one of a kind PMC pendant. To see more of Carrie’s work visiter her website at www.uraniumcafe.com.

Welcome Ana Cabrera!

I am very excited to introduce Ana Cabrera, the newest member of the Northridge Media family. Ana is our Director of Online and Social Media and brings a wealth of expertise. You will be hearing from her on our blogs, Facebook, and Twitter.  She is mom to three daughters, Sierra, Savannah, and Sedona, and has been an avid paper crafter for as long as she can remember.

When I asked Ana what she enjoyed most about the word of crafting, she said, “I absolutely LOVE this industry. I feel blessed to be a part of something that brings so many different women together. I love that we have a place to express ourselves, to document… to leave our mark in the world.”

Ana is going to be our eyes and ears at CHA in Orlando, Florida next week and will be posting about the awesome new products she discovers. Can’t wait to see what she finds.

Welcome, Ana!

Down to earth

Picture 2

I’m a sucker for earthy jewelry like these ones made from leather and twine. I’ve been wearing the brown one almost every day since I bought them at an amateur circus in Peru, Indiana last week (I’m saving the green one for a green-obsessed little girl), and I’m itching to try out some new leather-bead combinations.
